Deli & Grill

Posted by CyberTron on Sep 14, 2008 2:07AM
Was here for dinner on Friday night. I ordered a mix grill ($12), but I replaced the steak with mutton instead. At $12, I was feeling it was quite expensive. Though the portion is much bigger than the other stall that's few stalls down, I felt it was pretty pricey. For $4 more, you get a separate basket of fries with a sprinkled with chilli powder, instead of coleslaw, you get quite a portion of vege consisting of tomato, pineapple, celery, etc. You get more meat than the other stall, but definitely dun feel I get 50% more meat though. One thing I did not quite like is the mix grill is quite oily. You can find a layer of oil on the hot plate, which I felt was a bit too much. The fries though were warm, but they aren't really crispy though. Overall, I think this stall is quite expensive and food is just average if you overlook the oily part.

If you ordered other stuff, the price is comparable to the other stall. Yes, I agree it is oily, but I kind of like the cooked vegetables which comes with other hot plate dishes. Overall I tend to order from the other stall (taiwanese hotplate).

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi! The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you. For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.
