Hot Plate Western Food (Taiwan Style)

Posted by CyberTron on Sep 08, 2008 10:19PM
When I was here for lunch last week, saw there were 2 - 3 western food stalls on the same row. I was actually planning to try out the Delight & Grill (I think), but was closed when I was there, so I decided to try out the other one that was opened.

Actually, not sure actually what Taiwanese style means (on hot plate I guess), I decided to order the mix grill ($8). I was asked if I eat beef, so I say yes. So I guess if not, the steak will be substituted with something else maybe? So for $8, I get a piece of chicken chop and steak, together with a sausage, bake beans, coleslaw and fries. I find the steak a bit tough, while the chicken was ok. Portion wise wasn't that huge as well, which I find at $8, was a bit pricey compared to the mix grill at Old Airport Road.

So far, I still like the Old Airport Road western food best :) I always have my mix grill there without fries.

Cybertron, i agree with you. They over price their mixed grill and the food is no where near the standard of Old Airport market.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi! The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you. For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.
