Went to this place to have dinner yesterday. When we arrived, we couldn't find the stall as we thought it was on the first floor..but it wasn't. It is located at the second floor of the hawker centre.
From afar, we saw a very long queue but we never thought it would be sold out that fast..so we took our own sweet time. Then suddenly we heard someone saying "finish liao..no more liao..". My fren immediately went and ask one of the uncle, the uncle said "no more liao" :(
So we ordered other stuffs, and while waiting for our food, I saw some new comers managed to get the chicken rice..so I decided to go ask.. another nice uncle :P told me just queue and try ur luck..and fortunately....this uncle said..there were some left, so I just ordered the steamed chicken ($8).
The chicken was very tender , very very nice. It is not those very dry type, as it comes with some gravy..It was very delicious!!!! too bad I didnt get to try the rice...will make it a point to try it next time. Another thing to remember is to try the chili dip...
I would say it is the best chili paste (for chicken rice ) I have ever eaten..hehe :D

hmm..no wonder the last time I went, I tot the chicken tasted a bit different. So any idea what is uncle Ah Tong's plan? Start his own stall?

It is very sad that the uncle Ah Tong who had been preparing the succulent chicken all these years have just left his job owing to
ill treatment from the boss. The uncle happen to be a very old friend of mine. Now the boss is trying to cook the chicken himself. So if you
find that the chicken tastes different from the last time, at least you
know why.

At the other corner of the hawker centre is a stall selling hot&sour soup, guotie, steam dumplings, shanghai niangao, horfun. It's really good.

Maybe their chicken "move" so fast that they dun have the chance to hang them... hahaaha
I notice that, but I thought cos we were there late, so most of the chicken already sold out.

Sin Kee no doubt serves the best chicken around; if you take notice they don't hang their chicken; probably why it tastes so good? Nevertheless, the rice is not as good (which is a turn off for me, a rice person)

The chicken here is quite tender. A bit more gravy might be nicer I think. Never got a chance to try out the rice though, but the chilli is quite nice and spicy.

My last 2 trips there this year was kinda disappointing as well. First time, somewhere near CNY, a lot of seafood was sold out, even the beer! Thought cos we were there late, so the next time we decided to get there earlier, and this time, the crab where sold out!
Service was also very slow and not enuff people to serve the customers.
Food wise, I think price is still ok, but I think the food is not longer as good as when it was less well known.... planning to try senibong next round...

Have not been to Jogoya before, but I've been to the Gonbei opposite. Priced similarly to Jogoya if not wrong, and I thought the service and food was pretty good.

I went with 7 adults and 1 kid, we spent less than $120. I would safely hazard a guess of $18 - $25 per person, depending on how hungry you get. Real value for money for quality food.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.
