Seems recently, there's quite a few of these Japanese pasta concept restaurants sprouting out, like Shokudo and Pasta de Waraku. Saw this place while we were having dinner at Loy Sum Juan few weeks back, and decided to drop by here for dinner today.
I ordered a salmon and mushrom pizza ($11.90) while my 2 friends order a ebi spinach ($15.90) and soft shell crab ($15.90) pasta, both tomato cream based. I also ordered their Famous Fish and Chip ($9.90) and a tiramisu classic ($7.50).
I find my pizza pretty ok, while both of my friends found the tomata cream sauce for their pasta pretty good, except that soft shell crab has a slight fishy taste. As for their famous fish and chips, did not find it was that great, as I find their fish a bit tough and the tiramisu is just average.
Overall, the food here is ok, and currently, there's a 20% discount promotion when we were there. Without the discount, I find the price might be slightly a bit pricey given the location is slightly off town, where one probably can have a similar pasta in Pasta Cafe in Takashimaya at the same price.

yupz the tomato cream is not bad, at least doesn't give u the eat-till-u-sianzz feeling... preference still goes to pasta cafe where the tomata cream is less creamy than this...

Never been to the waraku one, but compared to the Shokudo at Bugis, I think the menu selection at Shokudo is more.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi!
The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you.
For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.

I don't remember if i'd ever come across cheap and nice seafood in KL...I suggest you to plan a trip to Sabah, that's really what I call heaven for seafood lovers. ;-)
