Western
My order
1) Baked fresh scallops RM19-90 (pic 4)
bit salty and bitter yes bitter (not recommended)
2) Escargots with garlic topping RM15-90 (pic 3)
average, had better in Singapore
3) Lobster Bisque (soup) RM15-90 (pic 8)
tomato like soup with a few chunks of lobster meat
taste better if you chew the lobster meat and drink the soup
4) Seafood Chowder Manhattan RM9-90 (pic 9)
better than lobster bisque
5) Cajun Salmon & Lamb Loin RM27-90 (pic 5)
should have given me a boneless salmon fillet and you will need tartar sauce for this salmon or else. Lamb loin is worth mentioning, well marinated and quite nice. Creamy mashed potatoes but again not the best I've had
6) VS Wild Mushroom Steak RM35-90 (pic 6)
sweet brown sauce, nothing to shout about
7) Iced lemon tea RM9-80 x 2 (pic 1)
Something about the tea they used as I love the taste of it, that's why I ordered two glasses
8) Apple pie with ice cream RM8-90 pic 7
skin too thick and not crispy, prefer Davedeli's style with thick apple juice inside (you can skip this dessert)
9) Bread and butter (complimentary) pic 2
Victoria station used to serve nice breads but those were the days, sadly not anymore
The food (2 and a half stars) does not match up with the ambience and service they have in this restaurant.

SP, as I can recall nothing is nice near Highway but Nam Heong white coffee and Funny mountain tau fu fa are also must try. But if you cut off Ipoh near Kinta City (Jusco) its like 20 to 30 minutes drive to Public Seafood restaurant (15 mins tops if the police cleared the traffic for you) You may try their fresh water prawns (insists on price against weight and not price per prawn) cheers

Both near Ipoh town. Not near to Highway though. If sifu is cooking - Public Restaurant best with the taste, Tuck Kee best with the crab meat, lots and lots of crab meat. Price RM80 to RM100 for Public and RM20 per person for Tuck Kee (these prices are not recent ones as I have not visited these places for at least 6 months)

SP, true sometimes even if the chef is around, consistency is a major problem as well. However, if you ever drop by Ipoh, try sharkfin soup in Public Seafood restaurant in Ipoh town or Tuck Kee restaurant.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi!
The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you.
For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.

I don't remember if i'd ever come across cheap and nice seafood in KL...I suggest you to plan a trip to Sabah, that's really what I call heaven for seafood lovers. ;-)
